Local Policing

Meet your local Police Officers

Saturday 19th May 3-4pm, Village Hall, Stanton Fitzwarren

Our local Police Officers, PC Marc Jackson and PASO Juliet Evans, will be at our Village Hall on the above date.

Marc and Juliet are very keen to meet with people who live in Stanton Fitzwarren to say ‘Hello’ - and also of course to discuss any issues or concerns you may have. Marc is also the Police Wildlife officer for our area.

Your Parish Council recently met with Juliet – and it was a very interesting and informative insight into Police work in our area. We covered topics such as fly-tipping and speeding through our village. Darren Nulty and Clare Brewster have volunteered to be the PC representatives liaising with Marc and Juliet about local crime and issues. They are also attending the new Neighbourhood Policing Team meetings, held every 3 months, with members of other local parish councils and police officers.

Please note that there is a new number to call in order to contact your local police. This number, 101, is for calls that are non-emergency and is for use 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Use 101 for less urgent crime or disorder and for general police enquiries. For example:

Juliet also explained the importance of reporting any ‘non-emergency’ crime in our area. Reporting crimes of any kind (such as fly-tipping, poaching or vandalism) helps Marc and Juliet build a profile for our area – and consequently enables them to develop strategies and tactics to tackle it.

Of course, Emergencies should be reported to 999.

We hope you can come along to meet Juliet and Marc – and of course children are very welcome.
